One animal suffers from abuse every minute. There are different types of animal abuse, and these are abandonment, negligence, animal testing, animal hoarding, illegal animal fighting, animal violence and animal poaching. Animal negligence is the most common type of abuse. In many cases, dogs are the victims of animal negligence. Based on CNN, there were six dogs abandoned and one was found dead in Texas. This happened during a winter storm when the temperature was 18 degrees. This is one of the worst-case scenarios in the 150 animal cruelty reports received by the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

Furthermore, many cosmetic companies are conducting animal testing. Rabbits and mice are usually used for laboratory experiments. According to PETA, Cruelty Free International, there are 115 million animals used for animal testing yearly. Animal testing is not necessary because the reactions of the animals to the chemicals could be different to humans. However, some cosmetic companies still choose to do it. In addition, if these animals are still alive after the test, they will be killed eventually without painkillers. On a final note, these statistics show how animals suffer from humans' hands. They certainly could not defend themselves. On the other hand, there is still hope. As humans, it is our responsibility to protect and care for these beings.
